Mineral Oils Viscosity
PhosLube – Mineral Oils Viscosity
Viscosity is one of the most essential properties in mineral oils. Mineral oils viscosity tends to be higher, especially when intended for internal use. The temperature used during viscosity analysis for mineral oils intended for internal use is relatively normal. This is true particularly in the case of mineral oils used for medicinal purposes, because the normal temperatures mimic those of the human body. Cable oils tend to be more viscous. Sometimes a maximum viscosity index is recorded to ensure that the oil will be viscous enough to prevent draining at ambient temperatures. Low ambient temperatures affect the flow characteristics of white mineral oils, and most all lubricants in general. Whether it’s for food preparation, mechanical, electrical, or industrial purposes, mineral oils viscosity plays a big role.
